About Us

Aida Piano Trio is an international award-winning chamber ensemble bringing together violinist Esther Zaglia (Italy), cellist Clélia Le Bret (France), and pianist Sofía Medina (Spain).

Recognised for the clarity of their interpretations, stylistic sensitivity, and strong ensemble cohesion, the trio is steadily establishing its presence on the European chamber music scene. In 2025, the ensemble was awarded First Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition “Arnuero” in Santander, Spain. The same year, they were invited to the prestigious IMS Prussia Cove masterclasses, where they worked closely with composer and pianist Thomas Adès.

Formed at the Royal College of Music in London, the trio continues to refine its artistic identity under the guidance of distinguished musicians including Danny Driver, Dina Parakhina and Alexander Chaushian. From 2025, they also joined the chamber music class of Bruno Giuranna at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona. Aida Piano Trio performs regularly across the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy, with appearances at festivals and concert series including the Festival di Musica di Pinerolo in Bardonecchia, the Watford Piano Trio Festival, Leeds International Concert Series, and the chamber music series at Centro Botín in Santander.

Clélia Le Bret

Clélia Le Bret

French cellist Clélia Le Bret has established herself as a dynamic young artist with a growing presence on the European chamber and orchestral scene. She began her musical training in France at the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison before continuing at the CRR de Paris with Hélène Dautry. She later moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music with Professor Alexander Chaushian, graduating with First-Class Honours in both her Bachelor’s (2023) and Master’s (2025) degrees as a Charles Ravel Scholar. Highlights include performances at Wigmore Hall as part of the RCM String Showcase (2023 and 2025). Last Autumn, she notably played Tchaikovsky’s sextet alongside LSO concertmaster, Benjamin Marquise Gilmore. Clélia also enjoys a varied orchestral career. In 2025, she was selected to be a fellow of the Sinfonia Smith Square Orchestra. Across the years, Clélia has performed in prestigious venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Royal Festival Hall in London, and the Musiikkitalo in Helsinki.


Esther Zaglia

Esther Zaglia

Esther Zaglia (b. 2000) began studying the violin at the age of six and trained at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Turin, graduating with top marks and honours. She later moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music with Radu Blidar, completing her Bachelor of Music and Master of Performance with highest honours. Her studies were supported by scholarships at the Royal College of Music as well as by the De Sono Associazione per la Musica scholarship. Based in London, she collaborates with orchestras including the London Mozart Players and has won a trial with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. She has been selected for the Philharmonia Orchestra Instrumental Fellowship Programme (2026), the Chamber Orchestra of Europe Orchestral Scheme, and the Orpheus Foundation Programme (2025–2026). She has received several competition awards and has performed in venues including Wigmore Hall and Royal Albert Hall.


Sofía Medina

Sofía Medina

Spanish pianist Sofía Medina is an international prize-winning performer recognised for her versatility as a soloist, chamber musician and historical-performance specialist. She graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music in London, where she completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s and Artist Diploma, and was later awarded the Mills Williams Junior Fellowship under the mentorship of Dina Parakhina. She has received first prizes at international competitions including the Kendal Taylor Beethoven Competition in London and the Danubia Talents Competition in Budapest. Medina performs regularly across Europe and is also dedicated to historical performance, studying harpsichord with Robert Woolley and fortepiano with Geoffrey Govier.
